Day 7 of Colourisation Project – May 14th
Another publicity still in the public domain provides the perfect canvass for colouring in. Today’s subject choice for colourisation was a favourite of mine growing up. Born this day in 1936, Bobby Darin was the ‘dreamlover’ of many a young fan of the 50s and 60s. This Grammy winning singer, songwriter and actor had a string of hits including Dream Lover. Multi-talented and widely respected by his peers, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999.
Unfortunately, Darin was taken way too early. He died of heart failure in 1973 at the age of 37.
“Any fool knows that bravado is always a cover-up for insecurity. Thats the truth. And on that note, I’ll say goodnight. God love you.” Bobby Darin
